​Building a community dedicated to improving children’s lives and opportunities through  quality early childhood education.
​The ExEL Foundation was created to address the very real challenge of access to early learning opportunities for the underserved and economically disadvantaged children in rapidly growing Collier County. One of the most significant barriers to quality early childhood education is financial inaccessibility. At $800 - $1,000 per month per child, early childhood education costs rival housing costs in the family budget. Lack of early learning opportunities greatly impacts a child's future success and can create lingering academic and social barriers once they begin elementary school. ExEL understands the importance and benefits of early learning education as the basis for future success for the individual in school, as well as for our community. 

In an effort to build a stronger community, ExEL is opening doors for these children so they can be empowered with the values, social skills, and knowledge required for success in Kindergarten and life. In order to be successful, ExEL is merging three sectors of our communities into one “Excellence in Early Learning Community." 
  • Community of children and their families. Two-to-five year old English as second language and other students that are living in families at or below the poverty level. 
  • School community. Quality Early Learning Centers; including directors, teachers, families, board members, volunteers and students. 
  • Supporting community. This includes the ExEL Foundation, its board members and volunteers along with foundations, grant opportunities, service organizations, individual and corporate donors, community leaders, and social service agencies. By combining these three communities, the ExEL Foundation believes it can dramatically increase its success and effectiveness in improving children's lives and opportunities.
